Point-in-Time (PIT) Count: 2026
Volunteers are needed January 22 (starting at dusk) to assist with Wilson County's Point-in-Time (PIT) Count through face-to-face interviews with sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness.
HUD requires that Continuums of Care conduct an annual count of people experiencing homelessness who are sheltered in emergency shelters, transitional housing, and Safe Havens on a single night.
This PIT Count provides critical data to guide resource allocation and end homelessness. It is an opportunity to seek and acknowledge those often unseen, understanding their needs, and offering resources when possible.
Homeless Advocacy for Rural Tennessee (HART) is leading this effort across 18 counties to create community and state awareness of the number and needs of the unhoused. Local volunteers and social service staff will gather vital information directly from the community, fostering deeper understanding and support.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
