DV Wilson Winter Storm 2026: Community-Wide Day of Service

Join us for a community-wide service day as we put Love in Action by helping our neighbors in Wilson County who are recovering from Winter Storm Fern. Many residents are still facing storm-related damage and cleanup needs, and your willingness to serve can make a real difference.

Volunteers will be assigned to small teams and sent to assist with a variety of tasks, which may include debris removal, light cleanup, moving fallen branches, and other basic outdoor recovery projects. No special skills are required, though chainsaw experience is a plus!

Details and project assignments will be shared after registration. A boxed lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

Suggested Supplies:

  • Work gloves
  • Closed-toe shoes / sturdy footwear
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • Rakes
  • Water (Volunteer Network will also provide)
  • Tarps
  • Wheelbarrow
  • Polesaw
  • Chainsaw (experience required)
  • Chainsaw Chaps (if using a chainsaw)
  • Eye protection (if using a chainsaw)
  • Ear protection (if using a chainsaw)

This service day is a great opportunity for individuals, families, small groups, youth, and faith or civic groups to come together and show our community that they are not alone.
